Interfaith Kitchen.

A warm dinner meal is served to those who are less fortunate and/or homeless most nights of the week.  Started by the Interfaith Caregivers, people from various groups and churches in town volunteer to prepare, cook, serve and cleanup in the basement of First United Methodist Church.  First Christian Church volunteers on the first Tuesday of each month in this outreach ministry that feeds about 90 people consistently.

Lifetree Cafe.

Explore Life – Meet Friends – Experience God.  Lifetree Café is a weekly, hour-long interactive experience that features real people’s real stories on film, guided conversation, biblical insights, and time to build relationships. Lifetree Café tackles the topics that most people deal with—topics about the big (and little) stuff that shapes our lives. Family. Friends. Fears. Busyness. Balance. Money. Materialism. Health. Heaven. Peace. Purpose.  Lifetree Café is a place where rich conversation is served up every week. At Lifetree Café you’re encouraged to share your own stories and listen to others. But if you don’t feel like talking, that’s okay, too. You’re welcome just as you are. First Christian Church hosts Lifetree Cafe three times a week at various times.  Check the Calendar of Events to see the meeting times and places.

Operation Christmas Child.

Samaritan’s Purse is a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world.  One of the many projects they oversee is Operation Christmas Child in which shoeboxes are packed with gifts and other necessary items and given to children in need all over the world.  In each box is a story that shares the Gospel story and how eternal salvation is achieved through belief in Jesus Christ.  First Christian Church has collected and packed shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child each year for many years and has served as the area collection center for thousands of shoeboxes.

Crop Walk.

CROP Hunger Walks are community-wide events sponsored by Church World Service and organized by local congregations or groups to raise funds to end hunger at home and around the world.

Service To Others.

Many ways to serve others are found here.

Blessings of generosity abound at First Christian Church.  So much is received by giving and there are many ways to serve the community in which we live.
